Today in assembly Catherine taked to the children about what a scientist is, some children drew pictures and talked about the type of things a scientist might use. Catherine also talked about diversity in STEM and looked at inspriational people in STEM including Mae Jemison, and George Washington Carver.

There was a whole school scientific enquiry into biscuit dunking! From reception to year 6, they investigate in different ways to find the best biscuit to dunk in your tea!

The  children learnt the STEM song.

FRIDAY 9th June – STEM FOCUS: ECO GOALS

Each year group worked on the Eco goals that they chose at the beginning of the year. The children were preparing to share their achievements with the rest of the school.

Each Year group has been given some targets. The Aim of this is it to encourage young people to engage in their environment by allowing them the opportunity to actively protect it. It starts in the classroom, it expands to the school and eventually fosters change in the community at large, having a whole school impact. Our Eco Goals are linked to the 17 sustainable development goals.
