“Look on every exit as being an entrance somewhere else.”

At Evendons we recognise how important it is for children to be able to successfully manage the transitions into new schools. Everyone coming to Evendons is making a transition to our school. They may be 4 years old or any other age up to 11, making a change part-way through their primary school career. All of our children will leave at the end of year 6 and move to a secondary school and some will leave at other times with family relocations and job changes.

We want the transition to be as smooth as possible. We want it to be successful. There are three main areas we need to consider to make this possible:

1. Preparing the children at Evendons through the curriculum, character education programme and school values to manage transition well;

2. Organising visits and tasks to support good transition; and

3. Providing information and guidance to parents to support their decisions

This page will be updated with a growing library of transition information and advice.
