Travelling to school

We are deeply conscious of the impact that humans have on the environment; sustainability is part of our curriculum and we strongly encourage children to walk, scoot or cycle to school wherever possible.

Walking Bus

In order to facilitate walking to school for those children that don’t live close by, we offer a Walking Bus option which leaves from Reeves Way car park (at the top of Leslie Sears playing field; entrance is via Eastheath Avenue) every day at 08.20am.

Children are accompanied across Viking Field, down Tanners Row and along Evendons Lane to the school doors. The children are given high visibility jackets to wear and it is suggested that they wear wellie boots during wet weather.

If you would like to register, volunteer or set-up a new route for the Walking Bus, email either office@evendons-primary.co.uk or walkingbusleads@evendons-primary.co.uk

Scooters and Bicycles

Children are able to leave their scooters and bikes in the cycle racks provided. They are able to use their bikes and scooters at break and lunch times if they wear their helmet.

Parking

Please note that there is no parking available for parents in the school car park at any time due to limited space.

While parking is available in the surrounding residential streets, we kindly ask that you do so considerately, showing respect for our neighbours and their access needs. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us reduce the impact of parking in the local area.

To help ease congestion and stagger parking, parents are welcome to accompany their children into classrooms from 8:30am onwards. At this time, you may either leave your child to settle in or stay and enjoy some shared reading before the school day officially begins.

Park and Stride

There are many park and stride options available. Detailed information on sustainable methods of travelling to school, including detailed maps of local footpaths and alleyways.
