Online Safety

We take the online safety of our children very seriously. On this page you will find several helpful documents with advice on keeping your children safe online.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact your child’s class teacher, our Online Safety Lead or the Headteacher. They can be reached via the office office@evendons-primary.co.uk

Monitoring and Filtration Systems

We use the following systems to ensure our children are safe when they are using computers and are online:

  • The schools firewall and web filtering solution is all provided by LGfL
  • All client machines and servers have Sophos Central Anti Virus installed
  • The schools email platform is provided by Google which covered by it own internal spam protection platform
  • The schools backup solution provided by our IT support, TechResponse.

National College training for parents

The National College provides multi-award winning online safety education for the whole school community. They believe that when children go online to learn, to communicate or to play, they should be able to do so safely. Parents can join National College to help children to use the internet safely, free of charge.

You can register and create your account. If you do wish to join, you can watch a video walkthrough for a quick introduction to the platform.

Once registered, some of the videos we recommend are:

  • An Introduction to Online Safety for Parents of Children Aged 4-7 (4 minutes)
  • An Introduction to Online Safety for Parents of Children Aged 7-11 (5 minutes)

Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP)

The National Crime Agency's Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) helps children and young people. CEOP offers help if a young person (up to 18) has been forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity with anyone online or in the real world. CEOP also offer advice and resources to support with the online problems young people might face, such as cyberbullying and hacking.

On the top left corner of this website you'll see a scared character, which is an easy-to-access link to CEOP for our pupils. At Kilburn Grange School we teach children that if they are worried about online safety, they can click on the scared figurine and the link will take them straight to CEOP for support.
