Local Governors
Leesha Whawell, Chair
Leesha is a parent of a Year 6 child at our school. She joined the local governing board in 2019 and was appointed vice-chair as we transitioned from being a single academy to be part of our current multi-academy trust, BPET. She is now the Chair of the Local Governing Board.
Leesha is a criminal barrister, defending and prosecuting cases throughout the South East of England. When not at work she enjoys being with her family, going to the theatre and making fondant icing cake toppers.
Tony Eames, Parent Advisor
Tony is a father of three pupils at our school. He has been involved with Evendons since its inception and served as the Chair of Governors for first two years, ensuring the governing structure and our first strategic plan was in place.
Tony has worked within the IT industry for two decades, across multiple blue organisations including Samsung and HP Inc. His experience covers a wide range of areas including marketing, business development, operations, innovation and sales management. Tony’s experience produced what became Evendon's ICT vision which put the school at the forefront of technology, using Google’s G-Suite for Education, which led to every child having access to a Chromebook device – something which was unique in primary schools at the time.
Tony lives with a pacemaker to combat a sudden death condition and is acutely aware of the importance of a strong SEN provision due to his early days at school. His passion is based on progress, to ensure people constantly better themselves. He completed a Million Metre indoor rowing challenge with a marathon distance finale in the school taking just under four hours.

She has a child at Evendons and a keen interest in STEM and sustainability, including the energy transition and the benefits of active travel to school. Wendy is keen to ensure that children get the best start in life through a well-rounded education. She is also a British Cycling Coach and volunteers at a local cycle club.
