Katrina Salmon

Y4 Teacher – Rimington Class

Katrina spent two years teaching at a lovely primary school in Reading where she learnt a lot since completing her PGCE at Reading University in 2013. Having grown up in Switzerland Katrina has an interest in languages, particularly French. She looks forward to sharing her passion for languages at Evendons with children, colleagues and the rest of the community. She is thrilled to have joined a great team and be a part of the growth and ambitions of Evendons.

Catherine Reeves

Y4 Teacher –  Archimedes Class
Catherine joined us recently as a teacher in year 4. She qualified in 2014 after studying for her PGCE at the University of Winchester. Her first teaching position was a large primary school in Bracknell. This was a great learning experience, giving her the opportunity to get to grips with the new curriculum in Key Stage 2. She enjoys working with KS2 children as they become more independent and ask more challenging questions! Before becoming a teacher, she worked at Nokia in Farnborough as an Electronics Engineer in the R&D centre, and has continued to be interested in technology. Her favourite subjects are maths and science, but she also loves art and history. She enjoys teaching languages and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge of French with the children here at Evendons.  She is delighted to be joining the school at such an exciting time in its development and is looking forward to working with you and your children in the years to come.

She is mum to a daughter who joined the reception class in September 2014. She has been a member of the Evendons Parent Proposer Group since March 2013 and is a Parent Governor. Sam is a qualified Architect and has been a member of the ARB for 16 years working as Project Architect on many multi million pound mixed use schemes. She took a career break from Architecture to spend time with her daughter and during this time retrained completing a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce. Prior to joining us at Evendons she spent 3 years as Deputy Manager at a charity specialising in supporting children, from birth to five with SEN and disabilities in Wokingham, along with their families.

Nicole Asghar

Y4 Teaching Assistant –  Rimington Class
Nicole joined Evendons in November 2016 as a learning support assistant. She has always enjoyed working with children, creating new ways of learning, playing and exploring the world and is currently studying part-time at the University of Surrey for a masters in Psychology, which has led to her keen interest in children’s mental health. This year Nicole started her dissertation research which focuses on understanding children’s perceptions of their peers with ASD and how those children with ASD experience school. She is hoping to feed back her findings to Evendons to help develop ideas on creating an inclusive, positive classroom experience for children with autism. Outside of school she loves to travel and explore new places, new food and music!
