Emily Beckett

Reception and Year 1 Phase Leader – Peake Class
Emily’s main area of expertise is with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), having always taught a mixture of Nursery or Reception children.  Emily has also done a lot of work on developing outdoor learning which is where her main passion in education lies.  She has travelled to Norway to see how kindergartens over there use the outdoors to enhance learning. Emily strongly believes in promoting tolerance, respect and trust so that the children develop into caring, responsible young people. Outside of school Emily is interested in the natural world, always having had a love of animals, as well as sailing and jewellery-making. She is also a bit of a baking enthusiast and loves to experiment with different cake concoctions!

Michelle Morris

YR Teacher – Goodall Class
Michelle’s first experience of education was during her travels of the world, when she found herself teaching between two primary schools in Uganda.  The experience really inspired her love of education and her desire to teach which set her off on her teaching career path. After qualifying she worked in several primary schools before joining Evendons. As well as an academic background in Geography and Modern History, Michelle has experience of teaching PE to young children. Michelle is very active, and loves to spend time in the natural environment, walking, climbing and cycling. She has family living all over the country so in her spare time enjoys visiting relatives and exploring some of the most beautiful areas of the country. Michelle also has a love of Ballroom and Latin dancing, taking this to competition level (although, unfortunately never winning anything!!) She does however continue to dance as a hobby in order to keep fit and have fun!

Sam Cracknell

Y1 Teacher – Earhart Class
Sam gained Qualified Teacher Status in July 2014, having completed the University of Reading PGCE course with an Early Years specialism. Specialising in Early Years allowed Sam to spend her school placements in Year 1 and Reception classes in local Wokingham schools, which she thoroughly enjoyed and learnt a tremendous amount from. Sam’s expertise is in Phonics, Literacy and Languages, having completed an undergraduate degree in Linguistic Science at the University of York. She enjoys learning about the English language and different languages, and hopes to inspire her class to share this enthusiasm. Sam sees the STEM focus at Evendons as an exciting prospect, and believes it gives lessons a meaningful, memorable context which will inspire children to discover learning more independently. Sam enjoys spending her spare time socialising with family and friends, visiting the theatre, reading and a range of creative activities such as drawing, singing and cooking.

Megan 1Megan Douglas

 Y1 Teacher – Brunel Class

I  joined Evendons in September 2015 after spending four years completing my teaching degree at Plymouth University. During my degree I specialised in ICT and computing, with a keen interest in teaching using film, coding and blogging. I have been lucky enough to teach in a range of different schools in the South West as well as teaching on an international placement in Finland. I love to expand my classroom from just four walls to appreciate a wider learning environment, particularly by getting outdoors! In my spare time I like to support my local football team, go to the theatre, practise a little yoga and travel and explore the world as much as I can.
